Yoga Align

Tuesdays – 5:30 – 6:30 PM

October 20th – December 8th

Inspired by Critical Alignment Therapy – a highly effective way of working with injury, pain and poor physical movement patterns – Tina will guide you through an exploration of the mind-body connection where breath meets relaxation meets core strength.

Having developed scoliosis in her adolescence, Tina absolutely understands what it’s like to live with chronic back pain. She uses her firsthand experience with how yoga and alignment therapy can dramatically reduce pain and ease discomfort to help others suffering from similar issues. Her natural empathy and numerous years’ experience as a school teacher helped her develop into an outstanding yoga teacher. She provides excellent, clear instruction and demonstrates care and concern for all her students.

Specific exercises targeting areas such as shoulders, core and hips, as well as breathing techniques will help you release tension and create ease and balance in your mind and body.

Take her class to feel aligned and strong.

This year Covid-19 has created allot of stress for people in their daily lives. We want to help strengthen not only your body but your mental health during this time. The therapeutic effects of yoga extend far beyond the mat and into daily living.  Following the methods of Critical Alignment Yoga, this 5-week series will explore conscious breathing exercises, deep relaxation techniques on the black spinal strip and felt pad (or blanket), and the mind-body connection.  This series fosters breathing & mindfulness techniques to help create a greater capacity for self-regulation and increased resilience. Additionally, this slower practice focuses on functional movement patterns, joint mobility, and core strength that will help restore wholeness and increased self-compassion. Led by our yoga instructor Tina.

No previous yoga experience required.

Yoga Flow

Thursdays – 6:30 – 7:30 PM

October 22nd – December 10th

Flow is a style of yoga which join asanas (poses) with inhales and exhales, creating a steady internal rhythm to the practice. Each practice has its unique focus rooted in a creative flow sequence.  This is a cardiovascular practice that integrates breath, movement, strength, flexibility and balance.  Students are encouraged to move at their own pace, find their own range of movement in a safe and supported environment.

Judy began practicing yoga in 2008 and instantly recognized the countless healing benefits yoga has to offer. In 2018, she completed her RYT 200 at the Alberta Yoga College and recently completed her Prenatal Yoga teaching certification at Metta Yoga Calgary. She enjoys teaching various styles of yoga and hopes to continue to study innovative ways to help her students.  As a teacher, Judy is warm and welcoming, she creates a safe, non-competitive space for her students to explore beneath the surface of their daily lives to find insight and inspiration.  Her classes offer creative sequences focusing on the importance of alignment, pranayama (breath work) and mindfulness.

As a mom of two boys, her life is full of excitement and activity, when she is not chasing her boys around or teaching yoga, she loves to run, cycle, and hike.

Take her class to feel at peace and grounded.
